Organic Pandan leaves and Thai Lemongrass Tea

This 100% organic and fair-trade tea is unique to Asia’s culture and has been prepared as a refreshing, delicious tea for centuries. The organic freshly harvested lemongrass gives the tea its pleasant spiciness which gets very well rounded with the unique taste of sun-dried pandan leaves. The green leaves have a nutty, vanilla and botanical fragrance which enhances the flavor of the tea. Traditionally these leaves have been used in Asian kitchens especially for rice and special cakes, making them sweet and green.

Both ingredients to this tea are locally grown in organic farms without the use of any chemicals. The lemongrass and pandan leaves are then harvested by the families running the fair-trade farms and sun-dried. Andaman Pearl Tea will reach you in a beautiful, handmade wooden box to ensure color, flavor and overall freshness – the tea is harvested throughout the year, so be assured that you’re always receiving the freshest available lemongrass and pandan leaves!

High quality organic dried pandan tea leaves. Pandan is also called Vanilla of the East. It makes a great, exotic and relaxing tea!

You will receive a handmade wooden box filled with 8 grams (0.3 ounces) of our dried pandan leaves.

Pandan (P. amaryllifolius) leaves are used in Asian cooking to add a distinct aroma to rice and curry dishes such as nasi lemak, kaya (‘jam’) preserves, and desserts such as pandan cake. In Indian cooking, the leaf is added whole to biryani, a kind of rice pilaf, made with ordinary rice (as opposed to that made with the premium-grade Basmati rice). The basis for this use is that both Basmati and Pandan leaf contain the same aromatic flavoring ingredient. Pandan leaf can be used as a complement to chocolate in many dishes, such as ice cream.

Suggesting brewing:

Boil dried pandan leaves with water until desired aroma is achieved.

Use boiling hot water and let the pandan leaves steep for approx. 3 minutes. The Bluechai team enjoys 2-3 heaped teaspoons per cup, but it depends on the intensity desired.

Tips:
– You can have pandan tea both hot and cold. It’s perfect both ways.
– You can add sugar or honey according to your taste, personally we’re using wild tasmanian honey or brown sugar.
– Please store in a dry, cool place.

Please store the tea in the original packaging or in a closed bag/jar in a dry and cool place, avoid direct sunlight.

Each Andaman Pearl Tea comes in a beautiful, handmade wooden box and contains 25 grams/0.88 ounces (net weight).
